I have been on the sunny island of Fuerteventura for a couple of weeks working online and training for my challenge in June for Breast Cancer Now which involves walking 100km over 2 days in the Lake District. There is also 1200m climb each day.
Rather than the snow or rain the challenge here in Fuerteventura was the heat and humidity but I was determined to get to the highest point on the island (807m) twice and I had 2 very different views/days for each.
I really think Pilates is a good base for any sport or challenge - we focus on core strength which involves your abdominals and back but also your flexibility which is hugely important for life generally - especially your shoulders and hamstrings.
If you find that you are stiffening up and starting to develop back or shoulder pain you need to act quickly and reverse this with a course of Pilates.
