Did you know that most back problems begin because of tightness in your shoulders? As we get older the muscle tissue or fascia becomes more brittle and we become naturally more stooped often because of our lifestyle, however if you consistently stretch and strengthen your shoulders you should avoid this.
Pilates addresses this and in Fitness Pilates we use both handweights and your body weight to strengthen not just your shoulders but your back and core too.
Once you know what you're doing you can also try the Power Bags or Sandbags too which can be incorporated into some of the Pilates exercises.
