I'm excited to start back teaching my Pilates and Fitness classes next week after a great break in July. I was lucky enough to visit my daughter in Australia and then a friend in Oslo, Norway so not much Pilates practice for me! I did however keep my fitness going with some running, swimming and walking - this is a great way to see your surroundings on holiday, especially if you get up early before the heat and the crowds start building.
Above I'm pictured on the Great Barrier Reef near Cairns - snorkelling for an hour is actually quite hard work! It was amazing.
I have never seen such a healthy population as in Australia - they tend to get up and start work very early, then everything is finished and closed around 5pm. Maybe the climate helps - I just think we have to make more effort to keep fit here in these cooler climes.
If you're looking to reboot your fitness please come and see me soon. It's best to start your fitness programme gradually and do a mix of Aerobic or Cardio fitness eg swimming, jogging, cycling, Strength and Core eg Pilates, weights, resistance work, Hign Intensity eg HIIT classes and Stretching and Flexiblility (Pilates and Yoga cover this).
I teach all of these in my classes but you can arrange a 121 session which can include all or some of these at a time to suit.
